What a Kitchen Renovation Costs in Ottawa (2026)
Most people in Ottawa have no idea what a kitchen should cost until they start calling around. Then the quotes come back and none of them match. One company says $12,000. The next says $45,000. Neither one explains the gap.
Here is what the numbers actually look like in 2026.
The short answer
A kitchen from Reviva starts at $10,000 supplied and installed. That covers the cabinets, the doors, the countertops, the backsplash, delivery, and installation. It is a finished kitchen, not a box of parts dropped in your driveway.
Most kitchens land somewhere between $10,000 and $28,000.
Size matters less than you would think
This is the part that surprises people. A large kitchen is not automatically an expensive kitchen.
We keep a stock of kitchens here in Canada. We call it the Ready-Now Collection. Those kitchens already made the trip, so there is no import wait and no custom order premium. If your layout works with what we have on hand, a big kitchen can come in at $10,000 just as easily as a small one.
What actually drives the price is what you choose, not how many metres of counter you have.
What moves the price
Ready-Now or custom order. This is the biggest lever by far. Ready-Now kitchens cost less because they are already here. The trade is selection. You are picking from what is in stock rather than specifying anything you like.
Door finish. The cabinet boxes are the same across our kitchens. The doors are where the look and the cost change. A matte finish costs less than high gloss. Wood grain sits in between.
Countertops. Laminate is cheapest. Quartz is the most common choice and sits in the middle. Natural stone runs highest. This single line can swing a quote by several thousand dollars.
The room itself. If the plumbing and electrical stay where they are, you save. Want the sink moved to the island? You are now paying a plumber and an electrician on top of the kitchen. Older Ottawa homes sometimes need walls or floors levelled first, and that shows up too.
Appliances. Usually not included. Most people keep what they have or buy separately.
What you get at each level
Ready-Now Collection, standard doors and laminate counters
From $10,000
Ready-Now Collection, upgraded doors or quartz counters
$13,000 to $19,000
Custom order, premium finishes and stone
$19,000 to $28,000
Any of these can be a small kitchen or a large one. The band you land in comes down to the collection and the finishes.
Where people overspend
Moving plumbing and gas for no real gain. Shifting a sink three feet can add thousands. Sometimes it is worth it. Often the layout was fine.
Paying for custom when stock fits. Custom makes sense when a room is genuinely odd. In most Ottawa homes, standard European sizes fit without the extra cost.
Buying appliances too early. People pick the fridge before the layout is settled, then find it does not fit. Settle the plan first.
Not asking what is included. A cheap quote is often cheap because installation, delivery, or countertops are missing from it. Ask for the full list every time.
How to bring the number down
Start with the Ready-Now Collection. Already here, no import wait, costs less than a custom order. The selection is limited to what is in stock, so you are trading choice for price.
Trade in your old kitchen. Right now we take up to $5,000 off a new kitchen when you give us the old one. We remove it for free and pass it on to someone who needs it. The amount depends on the size of the package you choose. This offer runs to 30 September 2026.
Keep the layout. The single biggest saving available to most people. Same footprint, new kitchen.
